Sponsors for New England 1/32 Endurance Championship (Winter 2006)

On behalf of all participants, I would like to thank the following sponsors who have graciously donated prizes to be awarded at this event.  If you'd like to become a sponsor for this event, please contact me at Sponsorship Information.

1.  Difalco Design - Jim Difalco has graciously donated a custom built Difalco controller as a prize for the event.  This controller retails for about $200!!!  For those of you not familiar with the Difalco name, Jim is widely recognized as one of the premier custom controller designer/manufacturers in the world.  Until fairly recently, most of Jim's controllers were aimed at 1/24 racers (many national and world champions use his controllers); however, Jim can easily adapt his proven 1/24 controller designs to address the needs of serious 1/32 racers as well (Jim recommends the DD238-15 or DD232-15 for 1/32 scale cars - he will tailor the controller components to each racer's specific needs).  Jim will also custom build versions of the DD229-15 or DD230-15 electronic modules for any 1/32 racers who want to convert their Parma turbo controllers to an electronic controller.  Several Shoreline Model Raceway club members use Jim's controllers - once you try one, you'll never want to use another controller!!!  Jim's service and support before and after the sale are top notch as well.  For those of you who have never had the opportunity to see what a difference a high-end controller can make, you'll have an opportunity to take one for a test drive on the 30th.  Please visit the Difalco Design website for more information.

*** Update Jan. 2, 2006 ***   In addition to the custom built Difalco controller described above, Jim Difalco is also donating five (5) discount coupons as event prizes.  The discount coupons range from 20% - 40% and can be applied to the purchase price of a custom built Difalco controller!!!

2.  Whitey's Slot Car Boxes - Dennis Faz (aka "Whitey") is making quite a name for himself building custom slot car boxes.  Dennis offers several standard configurations or will build a slot box to your specifications.  Dennis takes a great deal of pride in his boxes - the quality and workmanship of these boxes is second to none.  Dennis made a beautiful racer's chest available at our last event - Rick from New York was the lucky winner!  Several of you have since purchased boxes from Dennis - they are reasonably priced and will last a lifetime.  Please visit the Whitey's Slot Car Boxes website for more information.

*** Update Jan. 9, 2006 ***  - Dennis sent along a picture of the Slot box he is building as a doorprize for the upcoming event.  While the box isn't quite finished yet, the picture below will give you some idea what the finished product will look like.  The finished box will ship by the end of this week - I'll post an updated picture once I receive the box.  Some lucky participant is going to go home with a BIG smile on their face!

3.  PPR Slots - Steve (aka Sweet Z28) from PPR Slots has donated 4 pair of PPR 1408 (fits large hub Slot.it hubs) as a prize to one of the teams competing in the event.  While PPR tires aren't allowed in the January event, they will be allowed in the Fall 2006 race.  Several Shoreline classes allow silicones - PPR's are the tire of choice!  Please visit the PPR Slots website for more information.

4.  SlotLine Alfa Wheels - Kai from SlotLine has donated 4 sets of Alfa wheels (for Slot.it tires).  Each set include a pair of large and small Alfa wheels!  The Shoreline and H.O.S.T. clubs have (literally) purchased about 100 pair of these gorgeous aluminum wheels over the past 2-3 months.  The Alfa incorporates a hubless design which offers more flexibility when tuning cars (particularly sidewinders).  Please visit the SlotLine website for more information.

*** Update Jan. 10, 2006 *** - Kai has also donated a set of precision machined 4WD pulleys and drive belts as a doorprize!

5.  Wings 'N Wheels (Bart Brown) is also a sponsor for the upcoming Endurance Race (Bart was a sponsor at the last event as well...).  In addition to Bart's proprietary "black plastic" magnets, Bart will be bringing along some other goodies which will be given away as prizes.  Wings 'N Wheels carries an extensive selection of slot cars (Scalextric, Fly, Ninco, Carrera, Slot.it, SCX, MRRC, Revell/Monogram to name a few) and slot car parts.  What Bart doesn't have in stock can be ordered very quickly.  Don't live in the Clinton, CT vicinity?  Not a problem - Bart will ship cars/parts upon request.  Make sure to ask Bart about the special "Andy Devine thong" discount (seriously...) when you place your order...

*** Update Jan. 13, 2006 *** - Scalextric-USA and Wings 'N Wheels Hobbies have most generously donated a Le Mans T2 set, with 25 feet of track and two MG-Lolas, as a prize for the New England 1/32 Endurance Championship!!

6.  Dick McManus (aka "mcmannix") is donating a custom handmade wall shelf designed to hold a dozen (for you guys from New Hampshire 1 dozen = 12...) 1/32 slot cars.  Dick is largely responsible for the transition away from conventional plastic tracks to hand routed wooden tracks by several members of the Shoreline Model Raceways club.

7.  Reinecke Motorsports - David Reinecke produces high-quality 1/32 resin bodies - his current focus is Trans-Am era cars from 1966 - 1971.  David's cars are made from high-quality resin, using a system that produces bodies as smooth as injection molded plastic.  The result is a body which requires very little prep work (in many cases, just a wash) before painting.  David is donating one of his new 1970 Dodge Challenger kits complete with decals.  Please visit the Reinecke Motorsports website for more information.

This list will continue to grow as other sponsors who have been solicited firm up their sponsorship for this event.  When making future slot car purchases, please keep our sponsors in mind!!  These are the folks who help make events like the New England 1/32 Slot Car Endurance Championship possible.
