| Controller Hookup Panel Hardware and Components |

| If you're the hands-on type and prefer to build your own controller
hookup panels, we've assembled a hardware kit which includes the basic
components needed for any panel configuration. There are several
optional add-on's which allow you to design/build a controller hookup
panel to satisfy your requirements. The "Articles" section of this
website includes links to step-by-step articles which describe how to
plan and build "basic" and "deluxe" panels using the hardware kit and
optional components. |

| Plastic Fender Washers |
| Plastic Fender Washers for controller hookups help ensure
controllers are connected properly. Each set includes a black,
white and red washer. Washers are 1 1/8" in diameter with a 3/16"
diameter hole (fits 8/32 machine screws which are commonly used for
hookup posts). |

| What Else Will You Need? |
| |
| In addition to the components in the basic kit, you will need a
panel to mount your components to and a circuit protection device such as
a circuit breaker (auto-reset or manual reset) or fuse. Optional
items include lane reversing switches, auxiliary controller
connectors such as XLR connectors and jacks, and track call buttons. For your convenience,
these items are offered below. You will also need copper stranded
hookup wire to complete your project (available a home improvement
stores such as Home Depot or Lowe's). |

 Colored
plastic panels are perfect for fabricating your own driver's stations.
Panels are very durable yet easy to drill and require no painting.
Colors available include red, white,
blue, yellow, and green as shown. Panels measure 7"L x 3"W x
1/4"D. Each panel hs four(4) pre-drilled holes for easy mounting
to your layout. Includes mounting hardware. |

| Circuit Protection Devices |
| |
| Circuit protection is a MUST for each of your driver's stations - do
NOT rely on circuit protection which may be present in your power
supply. Failure to include adequate circuit protection can damage
your power supply, cars, controllers, track and/or person! At a
minimum, circuit protection should be provided for the "+" driver
station feed from the power supply. Circuit protection for the "-"
side of the circuit is also recommended. There are several circuit

| Heavy Duty Lane Reversing Switch |
| |
| The enhanced controller hookup panel we offer includes one of these
switches to provide a convenient way to reverse lane directions.
This allows you to run your layout in both directions by just flipping
the switch. No rewiring or flipping track sections is required.
It's like having a second track!! These are heavy duty double-pole,
double-throw (DPDT) On-On toggle switches rated at 15 amps DC. The
mounting stem is 15/32" diameter and there are six (6) 1/4" male blades. |

| Heavy Duty Lane Reversing Switch
With Locking Toggle |
| |
| These are heavy duty double-pole,
double-throw (DPDT) On-On toggle switches similar to those offered above
with several differences. First, they have a slightly higher
current rating (20 VDC vs.15 VDC). Second, they have six (6)
solder tabs for wiring connections instead of 1/4" male "blades".
Finally, they have a locking toggle/bat which is must be lifted before
the position can be changed. This prevents the toggle/bat position
from being "accidentally" changed. |

| 25 Ohm Brake Potentiometer |
| |
| This is a 25 ohm potentiometer rated at 5 watts which is well suited
to most 1/32 RTR cars. The threaded metal bushing permits mounting
in controller hookup panels (like the ones offered above). For
controllers with no brakes, you can also install the potentiometer in
the red/brake controller hookup lead (a small project box works well
here). Comes with lock washer and retaining nut. |

| |
| Open frame 1/4" panel mount jack for Ninco (1/4") and Scalextric
(mini) controller plugs. Extra long threaded mounting stem for
panels and mounting surfaces up to 1/4" thick. Large solder tabs
and open frame design simplify wiring. Includes washer, retaining
nut. For Scalextric-style mini plugs, order 1/4" to mini plug
adapter separately below. |

| |
| These are arcade quality track call buttons perfect for panel mounting applications.
Mounting hole diameter is 1 1/8". The mounting stem is long enough
to mount on surfaces up to 3/4" thick. Includes top-of-the-line
"Cherry" brand switch and retaining nut. Colors available include
red, white, blue, black and yellow. Note:
Because of the large hole required, it is often difficult to include a
track call button on the controller hookup panel. However, the
track call button can often be mounted immediately adjacent to the
controller hookup panel in the wood surface panel
is mounted to. |
