| Adjustable Front Axle Mounts |
| |
| For those of you who like to tune your chassis by setting the height
of the front axle / wheel, these adjustable front axle mounts provide an
easy, precise way to do so. Two set screws, one directly above and
one directly below the axle, provide an easy way to set the axle/wheel
height precisely where you want it. Note also the base of the axle
mount is slightly larger than portion of the mount with the vertical
slots - this provides more surface area to glue the mount securely to
the chassis. Racers have used these blocks successfully on a wide variety of one piece
1/32 RTR plastic chassis. Two (2) versions are offered - one for
3/32" axles (e.g. Scalextric, FLY) and one for slightly larger 2.5mm Ninco axles. Installation of the mounts is

Post Inserts |
| |
 How
many of your slot car bodies see limited use (or can no longer be used
at all) because of broken/damaged body posts like the one in the
accompanying picture? You don't have to race 1/32 slot cars very long to
experience some sort of problem with the body mounting posts.
While in extreme cases they may break right off the body, more often
they crack or split. Body post cracking and splitting can have
many causes - some common examples include using the wrong screw (too
large in diameter and/or the wrong thread), over-tightening the screw,
or excessive screw insertion/removal cycles. Whatever the cause,
repairs typically involve replacing all or part of the post, reinforcing
the existing post or filling/retapping the existing screw hole. In
all cases, there is a good chance the repaired post will eventually fail
again. These specially designed inserts and accompanying mounting
sleeves offer a fresh approach to
repairing body posts. In fact, serious racers may want to consider
using this approach to beef-up the stock body mounting posts and
eliminate the stock body mounting screws and their limitations
altogether. |

 Our inserts accept standard M2
machine screws (included in all kits) which will replace the stock body screws to secure the body.
The inserts have a flange which makes them perfect for mounting inside a
brass sleeve. This system
offers another important advantage over plastic body posts and (metal)
body screws. With stock body posts, even posts that are in good
condition, body screws have a tendency to work themselves loose
and in some cases, fall out altogether. In either case, the car's
handling and overall performance is adversely affected (in extreme
cases, the car may not be able to continue racing). Threadlockers
(e.g. , Permatex, Loctite) are one potential solution; however, ordinary
threadlockers are not plastic compatible. In contrast, these
inserts and the mounting screws offer a metal-to-metal
mounting system - this allows ordinary medium-strength (removable) threadlockers to be used to keep the body mounting screws exactly where
you want them. |

| Bushing Alignment Kits |
| |
| Proper bushing alignment is an example of a "little thing"
which when combined with other "little things" can make a big difference
in how well your car performs. There is exactly one way bushings
are properly aligned as described in my
Bushing
Alignment how-to video. Conversely, there are an infinite
number of ways they can be misaligned so the odds are really stacked
against us. While it is virtually impossible to align bushings
"perfectly", using the components in these kits will get them very, very close
(much closer than just using an axle) and just as
importantly, it will ensure consistent, repeatable results. |

| Racing Bronze Bushings (3/32" Axle) |
| Our Racing Bronze Bushings take our stock high-quality bronze
bushings described above one step further - the bushings are counter-bored
from one side for a portion of the inner bearing "race". This
means there is less inner surface area in contact with the rear axle
which in turn means less friction. The material removed also
creates a small "well" which makes it easier to lubricate the bushings. Despite the extra steps
required to manufacture these bushings, you don't have to pay an arm and
a leg for them. Ours are the same high quality as the better known
brand but cost less. These work great with Slot.it (tm) 3/32"
axles and 3/32" drill blanks. Sold in packages of one (1) pair

| Axle Spacers |
| Axles spacers are an essential tuning component when setting the
front and rear tire track width. Our thinner spacers are made of
stainless steel (.005" or .010" thick) and low-friction nylon (.020"
thick). The various spacer thicknesses we offer make it easy to
position gears and wheels very precisely or to remove side-to-side "slop"
which is often present with front and/or rear axle assemblies.. The spacers can also
be "stacked" to fill larger gaps or to precisely center crown gears on
the motor shaft. The thicker spacers are made of aluminum and are
available in two (2) thicknesses - .050" and .100". The
thicker spacers allow you to fill larger gaps with fewer
spacers - for example, when centering a crown gear on the motor shaft. |

Axle Stops |
|
If you race cars with an anglewinder motor/gear configuration, proper
gear mesh is obtained using an axle stop. The SCC axle stop uses a
straightforward design which is CNC machined from lightweight aluminum
and includes a hardened set screw which does not protrude when
tightened. Our axle stop is reasonably priced (some of our
competitors charge up to twice as much for their stops) with the same
quality and precision SCC parts are famous for. |

| Motor Retaining Screws |
| Motor retaining screws help you securely fasten the motor to the
chassis. This prevents the motor's torque from twisting the motor
which can adversely affect the gear mesh and/or twist the chassis which
affects the car's handling. Note that not all motors/chassis are
designed for motor retaining screws. The motor's can must be
drilled/tapped to accept the screws and the car's chassis (or motor pod)
must have pre-drilled holes which line up with the motor holes.

| 2mm Set Screws |
 These
are high-quality 2mm (M2) set screws in a variety of popular lengths.
Sold in packages of 5, 10 or 25 set screws at very reasonable prices.
Requires a .95mm hex driver (sold separately - click

Common applications for each length include:
- 5mm - These are the same set screws that we package with
our popular adjustable front axle blocks (both 3/32" and Ninco)
- 4mm - Replacement/spare set screws for Super Wheels SS.
- 3mm - This is the most common length for M2 set screws
used on 1/32 slot cars - they are used by many manufacturers to
secure wheels and gears. For example, Slot.it (tm) uses 3mm
long M2 set screws for wheels, crown gears and spur gears.
- 2.5mm - Some car builders prefer a slightly shorter set
screw for spur gears to prevent interference with the chassis as the
gear (and set screw) rotate.
- 2mm - These too can be used with crown and spur gears if
you want to ensure no portion of the set screw protrudes from the
gear hub. Some manufacturers also use these for securing

Unlike "hook-up" wire which generally has a low strand count (typically
7 - 19 strands) and thick PVC insulation, this wire has a very high strand count (168 individual copper strands)
and thin silicone insulation - both of these attributes contribute to its
extraordinary
flexibility and
"limpness". The silicone insulation also holds up much
better to soldering (high heat) than PVC insulation. Sold in 10 foot lengths - blue insulation only. |
