Super Wheels SS are now available in a 15x8mm format.

Super Wheels SS now feature simulated wheel nuts to give a more realistic appearance.

Super Wheels SS were designed based on requirements and feedback from 1/32 racers who actively participate in organized club and proxy race events.  Super Wheels SS were then subjected to an extensive battery of tests to validate and refine the design.  The result is a high-performance 1/32 aluminum wheel which offers the following features and benefits:

• True hubless design provides exceptional flexibility when adjusting the rear track width.  This is particularly important when rules specify the wheel/tire must be completely inside the fender and/or a maximum track width.

• Affordable alternative to other manufacturer’s hubless wheels which cost up to twice as much as Super Wheels SS.

• Precision machined using state-of-the-art CNC machine tools which ensure Super Wheels SS are perfectly round and the axle bore is concentric with both the outer wheel surface and longitudinal axis of the axle.

• Perfect concentricity between the axle bore and longitudinal axis of the axle is achieved by designing the Super Wheel SS for a specific axle (Slot.it SIPA01).  Tolerances between the axle bore and axle are extremely tight - in fact, you will notice a slight amount of resistance/drag when mounting or unmounting Super Wheels on the recommended axle.   This ensures concentricity is maintained when the set screw is tightened.  The result – ZERO wheel wobble or vibration which can adversely affect a car’s handling.

• Designed specifically for Super Tires ® and Yellow Dog Super Tires ®. Super Wheels SS were designed to compliment Super Tires and Yellow Dog Super Tires.  Super Wheels SS have undergone extensive design and testing to ensure Super Tires contact patches are perfectly flat ensuring the best possible grip.

• Attractive five hole design complements a wide variety of 1/32 slot cars makes and models.  Click on the thumbnails to see just a few examples.

• Easy to locate set screw using small dimple machined on inside of wheel.  This is especially helpful if the tire is glued to the wheel and you can’t easily peel the tire back to locate the set screw.

• Flexible design accepts Slot.it (all compounds) and wheel inserts if desired.

"I had an opportunity to test these wheels before they were released. I was impressed with the quality of these rims as they have a snug fit on the standard Slot.it axle, minimizing any wobble. I performed an on-track test against another brand of rims that had been perfectly trued using a lathe. Both sets of rims had glued and trued 1408 Super Tires. The new Super Wheels turned exact laps time as the trued rims. What’s interesting to note is these new rims are heavier than my the other rims, yet performed the same.

These are excellent rims and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a competitive edge."

I highly recommend these wheels to anyone who wants to build a fast slot car. Currently they are sold in one size, which corresponds to Slot.It 17mm x 10mm, simulating an LMP or GT type of 18" wheel. The rib is shaped to take Slot.It tires, or any of the Super Tires or other tires which would fit that rim. There is no hub on the inner face, so you can set them up just right, with plenty of internal clearance. They are shipped with exta-high quality, long, 2mm set screws which will not strip internally, nor will they pull the threads out of the wheel. Altogether, well worth the cost.

• Use ONLY the recommended axle - Slot.it (tm) part number SIPA01.  As mentioned previously, Super Wheels were designed specifically to fit this axle.  Note that other manufacturers "3/32 inch" axles and drill blanks do NOT have the same EXACT outer diameter as the Slot.it (tm) axle.  As a result, these axles and/or drill blanks are either too small (loose fit = wobble/vibration/hopping) or too large (wheel will not fit - the wheel will be damaged if forced on).
• Use a new axle.  Used axles often have scratches and/or foreign material present on the outer surface which can prevent the Super Wheel from fitting onto the axle properly (yes - the tolerances are that close...).
• Ensure the inside face of the wheel is perpendicular to the axle before pushing the wheel onto the axle.  When the axle is lined up properly with the Super Wheel axle bore, minimal effort should be required to push the wheel onto the axle.  A small but noticeable amount of resistance is normal - this "snug" fit is what Super Wheels are famous for.  Never force the wheel onto the axle!
• Even with precision machined parts, there will be some variation from one part to the next.  This holds true for the recommended Slot.it (tm) axles and Super Wheels.  Occasionally you may have an axle with a slightly larger than normal outer diameter and a Super Wheel with a slightly smaller inner diameter (axle bore) - the result may be a very "snug" fit.  When this occurs, slowly twisting the Super Wheel as it is being pushed onto the axle will sometimes help.  Again, don't force the wheel on the axle!
• If the Super Wheel cannot be pushed onto the axle after following the tips above, try using another (new) axle if one is available.
