Product Description

Our Racing Bronze Bushings include all of the great features of our standard bronze bushings (e.g. SAE bearing grade bronze, tighter tolerances) with one additional enhancement - the bushings are counter-bored from one side for a portion of the inner bushing "race". This means there is less inner surface area in contact with the rear axle which in turn means less friction. The material removed also creates a small "well" which makes it easier to lubricate the bushings. Despite the extra steps required to manufacture these bushings, you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for them - in fact, they cost less than many of our competitor's standard bushings. SCC Racing Bronze Bushings work great with Slot.it 3/32" axles (Part #: SIPA01) and 3/32" drill blanks. Sold in packages of one (1) pair only.

The metal Slot.it bushing is not ideal for the MRRC/Monogram Sebring chassis, or for the very common Scalextric chassis designs. The outer diameter of the bushing is sized to substitute for a Fly chassis axle bushing, and is larger than what would be ideal in the other makers' cars. So you have to ream the bushing locator slot/hole or risk eventually cracking the chassis. A better solution would be to use the SCC bronze bushings. The original SCC parts were sized like the Slot.it version, but they have changed the outer diameter of their new production to match the very slightly smaller outer diameter of the now-discontinued Scalextric Sport bushing (which was bronze) (that's the bushing that was the hallmark of the Scaley Sport cars they no longer issue, where the rear 3/32" axle bushings were bronze and not plastic, and the axles were hardened). The SCC "regular" and "race" bushings are now a perfect fit for Scalextric chassis designs and they do not stress the fragile chassis tabs for the bushing, and they are also now a perfect fit on the Sebring chassis tabs, too. Alignment should be easier and more accurate now, as well.
